Dr Arash Sadeghi (Aston University) has been awarded a £25,000 seed funding from the Urban Studies Foundation (USF) on the theme of ‘Pandemics and Cities’. The topic of the application was “Community-based social capital and economic resilience of SMEs in Iran: the role of socio-economic and built-environment characteristics of the neighborhoods”. This is a novel inter-disciplinary research that will be caried out in collaboration with an academic in Urban Planning at Loughborough University. This seed fund is the first step towards conducting a large-scale interdisciplinary project at the intersection of Entrepreneurship, Urban Planning, and Regional Development.
